Regional Designer Competition

  • Written by

designersBELGRADE – The fourth consecutive Young Balkan Designers competition has been organised in 2014 by the cultural organisation Mikser from Serbia in co-operation with the Croatian Designers Society and the Macedonian cultural organisation Public Room.

The Young Balkan Designers project is an invitation for design solutions by which designers can contribute to society and individuals in solving their outstanding problems.
Persons aged up to 35 from Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey are invited to send their contributions until the application deadline, 10 March.
Applicants need to fill in a form on the website www.ybd.mikser.rs, and the selection of works will be performed by a professional jury chaired by the world-renowned designer Konstantin Grčić.
The authors of the best three projects will have an opportunity for advanced professional training in workshops and practical training.
The jury will select a total of ten winners whose works will be exhibited at a travelling show lasting a year and visiting leading regional design events.
This year’s edition is taking place under the slogan Every-day Heroes, and views design as a catalyst of social change.
The regional platform Young Balkan Designers 2014 is devoted to the identification, promotion and development of the creative potential of the Balkans in the field of conceptual and industrial design.
